28/03/2008 - Snow and Nitro

It was a bit of a culture shock as the Sunday before the Easter event at Santa Pod Raceway I was in high twenty degree Celsius temperatures at Gainesville, Florida then a few days later another four long hard days trackside in temperatures not getting above five or six degrees with the wind chill making it just a tad cooler still – thank goodness for Damart arctic thermal long-johns. Despite the appallingly cold weather it was good to be back among my Eurodragster team-mates putting in some more long hours and managing a damn good laugh at most things including the snow.

Not the best of starts to our Drag Racing year but at least the teams that stayed managed to get in some track time and entertain the hardy crowd that risked hypothermia to watch. After the last few days of thawing out, writing race reports and downloading photos I can now get my own little web site updated. I now have a mere 3600 odd US and UK race photos to mark up and file. If I had a proper job and income these days I don’t know how on earth I could fit all of this Drag Racing lark in!!! Fingers crossed for a decent hot summer. This photo is of Steve Woollatt on his Top Fuel Bike. Check out the award winning www.eurodragster.com for all the up to date news on European drag racing. Any team news can be forwarded to Tog on the news desk. All of my photographs published on Nitro Exposure.co.uk and Eurodragster.com are Copyright and permission must be obtained for any use whatsoever.
